Paris Le Bourget

Travel with Prime Jet Services to Paris and the Rest of the World

Although the oldest of the airports in Paris, Paris Le Bourget Airport is no longer the primary airport for the city; most domestic and international flights arrive at the larger Paris Charles de Gaulle international airport. Le Bourget Airport was constructed initially in 1919, and remained the only airport in Paris until 1932. Today, Le Bourget Airport primarily serves business aviation needs, as most commercial flights use either de Gaulle International Airport or Orly Airport.

Frequently serving clients of high importance, the Paris Le Bourget Airport is the perfect gateway to one of the most famous cities in all of Europe. This airport is uniquely positioned to accommodate our private jets and welcome you to the city of lights. Furthermore, if you are planning to travel further around Europe, Paris Le Bourget Airport is well-connected to the other airports on the continent, allowing you to travel to your other destinations in a matter of hours.

HISTORY

As described above, Le Bourget Airport was first commercial airport for Paris, opening to the public in 1919. This airport served as the final destination for Charles Lindbergh’s historic 1927 solo trans-Atlantic flight from Roosevelt Field on Long Island. Finally, in 1980, Le Bourget Airport ceased to support commercial domestic flights and thus was closed to all commercial traffic, having stopped serving commercial international flights three years prior in 1977.

Despite closing access to commercial flights, Le Bourget Airport is still very much active today. It serves both private jets as well as business and recreational flights. Le Bourget Airport also holds the French Musée de l’air et de l’espace (literally, the Musem of Air and Space). In addition, the airport also hosts multiple air shows throughout the year, most notably the Paris Air Show.

ATTRACTIONS IN PARIS

Paris is a city filled with history and has options for every type of traveler. After your private jet arrives in the Paris Le Bourget Airport and you arrive in the city, you have many options at your disposal for touring the city. Of course, the world-famous Eiffel Tower is the universally recognized symbol for the city. Originally constructed for the World’s Fair in 1887, the tower now stands today as an emblem of Paris. Not only can you see the outside of the Eiffel Tower, but you can also go inside and even get the view from the top of it.

In addition to holding the Eiffel Tower, Paris is also home to some of the most well-known pieces of art in the entire world. Naturally, at the center of this is the famous Louvre Museum. Among other works of art, the Louvre contains Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, arguably the most famous painting in the entire world. The Musée d’Orsay also contains many famous works from the Impressionist and post-Impressionist periods. Most notably, this museum contains works created by Monet and Van Gogh.

After you have taken in the Eiffel Tower and the magnificent works of art in the city’s museums, take a trip through time and visit the historic sites around Paris. The Basilica of Saint-Denis is widely considered to be the first cathedral build in the Gothic style. Inside, you can marvel at the magnificent stained-glass windows lining the walls of the church and visit the final resting places of the French kings. The cathedral of Notre Dame, although recently damaged in a devastating fire, remains one of the most iconic buildings not only in Paris, but in the whole of France. A short trip north of Paris to the palace at Versailles is a great way to both escape the hustle and bustle of the city and also visit the fascinating palace of the kings of France’s ancien régime.
